The Topper Class is responsible for developing some of the best young sailors in the world.
Helping fulfil each individual’s full potential, sailing a Topper builds key life skills such as; independence, confidence, physical fitness, and outstanding teamwork. Many Topper sailors also go on to to have successful sailing careers through Olympic Pathways, or continue the sport as a much-loved hobby into adulthood.

Topper 4.2
A Perfect Head Start
The 4.2 is our entry-level option for younger sailors, designed to help you get to grips before progressing to the the 5.3 fleet. The 4.2 provides a fantastic opportunity to make friends and dip your toe into the world of competitive sailing.
Topper 5.3
The Original Racing Fleet
Friendly and competitive, the 5.3 is our long established racing class, with national and world events every year. Fully recognised by the RYA as an Olympic Pathway, there are always plenty of training opportunities across the UK all year.
Topper 6.4
An Exciting Next Step
The 6.4 is an ideal choice for more experienced sailors looking for a challenge. A great way to gain confidence sailing a larger rig before progressing into adult racing classes, it also allows you to sail with friends long after you’ve outgrown the 5.3.
New and Improved Features
We continually keep up-to-date with advancements and innovative technology to ensure the charm of the much-loved Topper is suitably adapted for modern sailing requirements.
In 2023, our original production method was updated to our signature rota-moulding technique used on Topper International’s Topaz range. At the same time we also grasped the opportunity to make a few improvements. Theses important changes have safeguarded the future of boat, and have brought it bang up to date!
The Topper – The Proven Pathway
The unique blend of simplicity and low cost of the Topper combined with it’s exciting performance has proved to be a perfect mix for developing the talents of sailors, arming them with the necessary all-round skill sets to move successfully into any of the Olympic dinghy classes.
The RYA, Irish Sailing Association and the Chinese Yachting Association all use the Topper as a ‘Junior Pathway Class ‘enabling young athletes to develop their racing talents into Olympic Class sailing. As a result, Topper sailors have gone on to win Olympic medals in the Laser, Laser Radial, Finn, Women’s 470, Men’s 470, 49er, Nacra 17 and Star class plus Paralympic medals in the 2.4m.
