Northern Ireland Sailing Team shine at Topper Winter Championships

Article from NI Sailing Team, written by Peter Gilmore.
The Northern Ireland Sailing Team were on top form at the Topper Winter Championships in Malahide Yacht Club, producing some excellent performances across the two-day event.
The competition took place on the 15th and 16th March, with Adam Green, Ben McCaldin, Charlie Haslett and Hugh Hutchinson all in action.
Lough Erne Yacht Club’s Adam Green was the overall winner, winning four of the eight races sailed, helping him take victory with a seven point buffer on second place.
The rest of the team also finished high up the standings with, Ben McCaldin finishing in 3rd, Charlie Haslett finishing 12th and Hugh Hutchinson finishing 20th in the 32 boat fleet.
These performances from Northern Irish Sailing Team sailors helps to continue the momentum created by recent results from the Topper Squad such as their win at the Celtic Cup at the beginning of February.
The team have been through an intensive period of training with recent training camps at East Antrim Boat Club and Lough Erne Yacht Club, so they are continuing to become sharper as the summer of sailing approaches.
